G. Kidz Galore

I was up and out of bed somewhere close to 715am. Mindy didn't budge as I slipped out bed, brushed my teeth, then headed down the stairs. The sun was just making its ascent above the neighborhood roof tops while I prepped a pot of coffee. Gorgeous! I was anxious to get online and see if the Reds pulled out their game against the Dodgers the night before. They did!

While enjoying coffee at the PC, I got a call back from Landon, one of the other tree services I contacted and the one who was supposed to show up last Tuesday before 10am. Said he did stop by and to look at the trees. Said he would take 'em all down, remove the wood, grind the two stumps for $2600. That was a far better number. I asked him when he could get started. We agreed on the 24th.

Mindy was up a few minutes later, or somewhere very close to 830am, which is extremely early for her. We hung out on the deck for a short time before I suggested we walk the pug together. Went a bit further than usual. Eiknarf very much enjoyed all the new smells along she encountered along the way. Almost forgot, earlier, while still hanging on the deck, Bella came running home from her overnight at Makayla's. Makayla had early soccer practice so we were expecting her to come home early.

After walking the pug, I dressed and left for a run. By then it was warm enough that I ran without a shirt. Expecting a high in the mid 80s later in the afternoon and no chance of rain for the foreseeable future. Ran three miles without issue. Mindy spent much of the day (late morning and early afternoon) cleaning the house. We were expecting four of the grandchildren to spend the night and then hang out Sunday for an early b-day celebration. Planned to watch the Buckeye game at 330pm.

Jacob was home from his overnight fairly early on too. Said he didn't feel well, and soon disappeared to his room. Didn't see hide nor hair of him the rest of the day. I did little if anything productive. I hit golf balls out back for about 45 minutes leading up to the Buckeye game kick-off. It was kind of nice to have a day where I did next to nothing.

Watched the Buckeye game beginning at 330pm. Quarterback, Braxton Miller hurt on first drive. Out of the game. Played with a back-up the rest of the game, but the win still came easy. They won 42-7. Ashley brought Olivia and the boys over near 6pm. Said she, her mom and grandpa were heading to the casino that night. Mindy gave her the hand cream she bought specifically to address her ongoing battle with psoriasis. The kids were excited to be there for an overnight. I was happy to see them all, too. We were still expecting Kaileigh & Sienna sometime after the Buckeye game. I'm pretty sure that Kaileigh & Shellie worked concessions at the game for cheerleading camp.

To keep the kids occupied, Mindy had the kids help decorate my b-day cake. She also planned to let them make their own Boboli pizzas. They started making their pizzas around 630-7pm. Shellie, Kaileigh, Sienna and Trippie showed up around 730-8pm. Sienna decided she didn't want to stay. She and Trippie still stuck around and played for a while. Both of the wee ones gave me big hugs! After dinner, Bella and Kaileigh wanted some time alone on the deck. They soon beckoned Mindy for some girl talk. Interesting stuff. Kaileigh is maturing so fast.
I was feeling awfully tired and really had been all day. Mindy took care of helping the kids find all of their sleeping arrangements. Essentially, all the girls would be sleeping in Bella's room and the two boys in the guest room. The older girls insisted that Olivia sleep on Bella's bed while they shared the blow-up air mattress. Said Olivia kicks in the middle of the night. :)

I watched the entire first half of the much hyped Notre Dame/Michigan game from the family room. But even before 10pm I asked Mindy if we could watch the rest from bed. She agreed. I'll bet I only saw 5 minutes more before falling asleep. So tired!
