The view the dogs that pee on my trees see.
I was up just after 530am. It was still dark but I could see light reflecting off the pavement indicating that it had rained overnight. I was actually happy about that. We needed it. Downstairs, I glanced out back after slipping into my exercise shoes. It was sprinkling and warm- surprisingly warm – about 64 degrees. I thought it was supposed to drop to near 50 again overnight.
I quickly did 50 sit-ups, windmills, and curls then poured some coffee. For the first time in a while, I had time to enjoy coffee and internet ahead of waking Mindy. It was only 550am. I checked weather. Looked like more rain coming up from the south like we often see in the autumn. But once again, it looked like the majority of it would just miss us to the east. Wasn’t expected to get much warmer than it was at the present. In fact, they were calling for the temps to drop once the rain cleared, and then expecting a low in the low/mid 40s overnight.
I did my meditation and stretch ahead of a run. I dressed in shorts and a thin, long-sleeved wicking shirt. It was 635am when I hit the road. It was sprinkling lightly throughout my run, but not enough to hamper the run or dampen my spirits. I ran the full 4.1 miles eagerly. Mindy and Bella were up and in the kitchen when I returned. I quickly leashed up the pug and headed out for our morning walk. I allowed her to lead, and she lead us across the street, which seems to be her new preference. She took care of business fairly quickly.
Back at the house Mindy had my eggs ready and was she making final preparations for departure. I finished my breakfast then ran off to the shower. I opted to wear the same Dockers I wore the day before. What the heck! I just turned them inside out. ha ha ha! Back downstairs early - about 750am, I finished packing my lunch and cleaned up the breakfast mess.
Bella made sure I knew that it was raining. I suggested we wait for the bus in the garage. I left Eiknarf inside. She wasn't happy. And while we had the garage door opened, Bella stood in the driveway getting rained on. I coaxed back under cover sharing that it made little sense to stand out in the rain. Soon, Makayla walked down and joined us in the garage. Kenny and Tessa soon followed. As soon as the kids were on the bus, Kenny was taking Tessa in to be spayed. Bella asked what that was all about. It was quite funny listening to Makayla's explanation - basically a process by where they remove a muscle thus prventing puppies. :)
Tessa is a somewhat aggressive English Bulldog. She's friendly but likes to jump up on people and also likes to chew things she shouldn't. I joked that perhaps a side effect of the spaying would be a calmer dog. Kenny went further, saying he hopes she'll no longer chew things up.
The kids ran off to the bus soon after it whizzed by the house. Kenny and Tessa headed home. I headed inside. I took care of a few last minute tasks before heading off to the office. Arrived at the office earlier than most days. I was settled and logged in by 845am. I scrawled out my daily to-do list then went on the attack. I spent most of the morning updating two customer facing support documents that I needed to finalize by week's end. I also spent time on yet another monthly report. I didn't bother taking a formal lunch break. Instead, I kept busy and ate at my desk. The day went pretty quick.
It was a gymnastics night for Bella and Mindy was in route to the gym to drop her off when I called during my commute home. I guessed correctly that we'd be having tacos for dinner. Jacob was home but apparently in his room when I arrived. The house was quiet. I used those precious few minutes to rinse my lunch containers, prep Wednesday's coffee, and unwind from my work day. Bella's early dinner remnants were still on the kitchen table. She had taco nachos. They looked too good to resist. I ate most of what she left behind.
Mindy was home a few minutes later and quickly got the taco fixins out and ready. I made a burrito and then a hard shelled taco. Mindy confirmed that I would go after Bella. The time in between dinner and time to leave goes fast. We need to leave for her retrieval around 710pm. I left right at 710pm figuring if traffic was light that I might get to watch some of practice. They have a viewing area set up with chairs at one end of the gym. This time I drove the Accord.
I was happy to find no traffic snarls whatsoever on 270 south. However, the construction is ongoing and it doesn't look like it'll be done anytime soon. In fact, my guess is early summer 2013. Showed up at gym around 720pm. There were a few seats available but the one I had my eyes set on was taken just before I could get there by another woman. The other held the purse of the fat woman next to it. I opted to stand. I had my camera in two and snapped a picture of Bella doing her routine. It turned out poorly. I didn't bother trying another or making any adjustments for the lighting conditions. Practice might've lasted another 10 minutes before Bella came running.
She asked again if we could stop at Dairy Queen. No, sorry, not tonight. As expected, traffic was light on the drive home. We were home by 745pm. I checked the knowledge channels on the TV listings. Nothing worthy of my time. I stopped over on Tosh.0 briefly. Got a chuckle then moved on. Eventually parked on the Reds game where I watched them clear the bases with a 1 bases loaded double. Go Reds. I ended up doing a little reading instead, which is far more relaxing anyways.
Bella asked Mindy to pop her some popcorn. Bella shared a little with me. By 915pm, Mindy and the kids were off to bed. I stayed up until just after 10pm.
