Nightmare: Waking up snuggled against Momma.

With the recent time change I didn’t bother setting my bedroom clock forward one hour. Reason being, it was already running 2.67 hours ahead and it’s been that way for the last 4 months. Of course now it’s only 1.67 hours ahead. Because of this, I have to be a bit more deliberate when checking the time in middle of the night. A math faux pas could make me late. So far there hasn’t been an issue. I woke just before 5:30am and wisely decided not to push the envelope and crawled out of bed. Part of me wanted to sneak in a few more winks, but I felt pretty darn good after 7.5 hours of sleep, and that isn’t counting the 30-40 minute nap I took less than a hour before heading to bed. I completed my exercise routine and checked the morning temperature. It was supposed to get down near 20 degrees, but the weatherbug was reporting 28. But even that was far colder than it’s been for the past week or more. I wasn’t sure how cold that would feel. I bundled warmly headiing out with Ykraps. It was chilly but not too bad. It certainly couldn’t be described as brutal by any measure. Soon after returning home I delivered Mindy’s coffee. She reported sleeping much better but was up a couple of times in the night. At one point I remembered waking and seeing Jacob in our bed snuggled up against his momma. She said he had a bad dream. You see, for me, that IS a bad dream – waking up snuggled against my momma. :) I read the Daily OM and then some of the day’s headlines. More specifically, I was eager to read the financial headlines after two straight days of gains on Wall St. Prior, it has been nothing but bad news. Come 6:15am I had to peel away to go stretch and meditate. I dressed and left for a run at 6:35am. I wore full winter attire –gaiter and all. I was comfortable. Overall, the run went well. I was home by 7:15am. Landon was back at the breakfast table this morning for the first time in almost a week. I guessed he was finally feeling better. Mindy said he even asked for a waffle. He wanted chocolate milk too but she wouldn’t give in to his desire just yet. However, against Mindy’s wishes, I promised him some later that night.. Mindy & the wee ones left at 7:25am. But not before she placed a pork roast in the new crock pot. She planned to invite my dad over for dinner. I finished my breakfast then headed up for a shower. I was ready to go by 7:53am. Jacob rushed out the door at 7:57am. I was right behind him. Because of the winter chill, I started the Trooper before making my way to the bus stop with the boys. She pulled up at 8:04am. I stopped back home real quick to organize all of my gear before leaving at 8:12am. I arrived at work just before 8:30am. The morning moved briskly. It was afternoon before I knew it. I slid through the afternoon until around 3 or 4pm. It got very busy about then. I left for home just before 5:30pm. I didn’t bother making any drive time calls. Instead, I simply enjoyed the little slice of peace. I was pleased to see gas prices on the decline once more after a steep price increase at the end of last week. My dad’s minivan was parked out front. But inside the house, it was strangely quiet. Mindy indicated that Jacob and Dad were out walking Ykraps. Mindy warned that Rocky was in rare form. She had Rocky and Bella in the basement picking up their mess from two weeks worth of playing. The pork roast was exceptional. Mindy pointed out that it was a variation on the type she typically buys. Dad stayed until roughly 7:00pm. After baths and tuck in Mindy & I watched some Science Channel before succumbing to sleep ourselves.
