Where'd Tuesday Go?

I was up just after 5:30am. I felt considerably better than the morning before but still not 100%. What I didn’t do was spray Afrin up my nose before bed. I was happy to see that it was 49 degrees at 5:40am. I checked just before beginning my exercise regiment. Among other things, that meant my run would be more spring-like. I finished my exercises and then headed out with Ykrap. It was a pleasure laden walk. Just a few scattered icebergs remained from our mini ice age. I took Mindy coffee soon after our return. Mindy said that Jacob was ill, up in the middle of the night with a fever. She asked if there was any way that I could work from home. Sadly, I couldn’t. For starters, I didn’t have my laptop with me. Otherwise, I just might’ve. She asked for her phone. I fetched it. I wasn’t sure who she was calling but later learned that it was Jimaken. He agreed to pick-up Jacob around 8am and take him back to his place for the day. I finished my morning routine then set out for my run. I wore early spring attire and no gloves or ear covers. Fifty degrees is a good marker for me. Any cooler, I’ll often start out with ear covers and possibly even light weight gloves, only to shed them both once into a rhythm. It was a very nice run – my first of year 13! Mindy was preparing to leave with the kids when I returned, although she wasn’t yet in the Honda herself. The kids were, however. I opened the doors and kissed them all goodbye. I ate my breakfast then tended to the roast Mindy had placed in the new crockpot. She broke our primary crock a couple weeks ago.. She asked that I remove the bottom Styrofoam platter and then add more seasonings. I followed her directions. At 7:40am the door bell rang. It was Jimaken there to pick-up Jacob. I wasn’t expecting him so soon. I had to wake Jacob from a deep sleep. He quickly gathered himself, his shoes and a jacket and left with his daddy. I completed a few other miscellaneous tasks before heading up for a shower. Not needing to worry about getting Jacob on the bus changed the dynamics of my morning considerably. I was able to gather a few things for my lunch then leave for work. I was well ahead of the game arriving to work early. We were expecting good news from high above at work today. That news came mid-morning. The place was all abuzz. Soon my peers and I began sharing the good news with our teams. It was a banner day. I got my own news around 11am. The day went largely as planned. I ate a salad and then a can of tuna fish for lunch. It was extra tasty. I didn’t leave for a formal lunch hour. Ashley called mid afternoon asking for some help buying another car. It sounded like an unsavory deal to my ears. I asked that she phone me later at home where we could more freely discuss the details. She agreed. Even then I felt 99% sure that I wouldn’t/couldn’t help. The kids collectively are bringing me to my knees! L I left work at 5:35pm. It was a lovely evening. I was looking forward to having pot roast for dinner. It was all but ready in the door. I walked Ykraps at a leisurely pace enjoying the spring like warmth. As much as I was happy to see the old snow finally melt, I am eager for another month or so of winter weather so that Mindy & I can put our new skis to good use. The kids were already starting to eat by the time that Ykraps and I made it back. Mindy soon served up my plate, too. The kids, like usual, kept Mindy hopping for several minutes before she had a chance to enjoy the first bite of her own dinner. I had a second helping of beef. It was delicious. Clean-up was fairly easy. Almost everything went in the dishwasher. Jacob was feeling under the weather and spent most of his time lounging on the sofa. It was looking more and more like he might miss school on Wednesday, too. I spent 40 minutes after tucking in the kids updating my blog. I tuned into Idol for the final 20 minutes then watched Fringe. Good episode- very Hannibal Lector-like. We caught tomorrow’s weather forecast before shutting down the TV. Low 60’s tomorrow with thunderstorms possible. Expecting high winds too. Somewhere near 60 mph gusts.
