I was up just after 5:30am after a rather comfy night’s sleep. It was Wednesday, the middle of the week; the day that traditionally marks the down slide into the weekend. Speaking of which, Mindy surprised me a couple weeks ago when she expressed her disdain for this day. I can’t exactly recall her reasoning.
I finished my exercises then soon headed outdoors with Ykraps. It was a glorious morning for a walk. We took our time. This was trash day and that’s a big thing for our family. If we miss a week, we’re in trouble. Mindy & the kids generate a bag full each day.
I made coffee for the two of us when I returned. Mindy was already up and in the shower when I delivered. I got no tip! On to food prep. I couldn’t remember if Mindy declined lunch today or not. For whatever reason I thought that she might’ve. I double checked. She DID want a lunch! After our lunches were packed, I made an omelet. We split it 60/40 as we most often do.
Mindy & the kids departed around 7:20am. I left for the shower. I remembered to grab a pair of shorts and a t-shirt for the tentative Wednesday "Bob" golf league, although playing wasn’t by any means a sure thing yet. I just figured it better to be prepared. Because of this, I drove the Trooper on an otherwise ideal BM’er day. The high was expected to reach close to 85 degrees under mostly sunny skies. We are having an absolutely gorgeous spring save for the first two weeks of April. In fact, this might be the nicest I can ever recall.
Work was busy (I know I say that often). We had a staff meeting this AM. It ended just before lunch time. I left for my run around 12:45pm. It was hard to peel myself away as my time and effort was in high demand. It was already 85 degrees according to the weather bug. I ran without a shirt. It was gorgeous! Because of no shirt, I didn’t do the MP3 player because it irritates my chest and underarm where it rubs for 40 minutes. Ouch! After my run I returned to my office to eat. I had an email from Bob I. regarding golf league. We were on! I was excited! I soon left for yet another afternoon meeting that went up until 3:30pm. I checked with my boss about leaving early for golf. I left at 445pm.
Traffic was a bear. It took all of 35 minutes to get to The Links at Groveport. The Bob’s were already there and ready. I changed into my golf attire and paid up quickly. I was ready to go in short order. Once again I didn’t score well. And once again the first two holes we played set the tone. However, I recovered nicely on holes 4, 5, 6, & 7 with a bogie, birdie, par, a bogie. I was on a roll! But sadly, holes 8 & 9 ate my lunch. The good news is that I think i found my groove. My swing is back! I hit four or five rock solid drives that traveled anyhwere about 240-270 yards (my max). More importantly, they were in the fairway. What tripped me up today more than anything else was the rough around the greens. It was hard to get up & down.
We finished at 8pm but like last week, we went back to hole number 9 to play it again just for fun. We finished for good around 8:20pm. I left for home just before 8:30pm. I finally reached Mindy via cell about half way home. She ignored my first call. When I got home Bella was out of bed waiting my arrival. I entered through the front door even though out of habit I raised the garage door. The first thing I did was get some food. I was starving. I made two pork roast burritos. They were out of this world delicious. While I indulged my hunger, Mindy tuned into Idol elimination night. As I predicted, Lakisha got bumped. Down to three. We stayed up until 10pm. It was still very steamy when we headed to bed. In hindsight, we probably should’ve turned on the A/C. I woke suddenly at 1130pm after hearing the doorbell ring. I snuck to the window to see who it was. It was a young girl with a Chihuahua. She left just as I was going to ask what she wanted through the bedroom window. Back in bed, Mindy asked what the devil I was doing. I explained and went back to sleep. Mindy found that alarming and was frightened. I woke suddenly once again, only this time without any prompting. It occurred to me that I should check the garage door. I pulled myself out of bed and went down to check. Sure enough, our garage door was raised. I put it down and headed back to bed. I vaguely remembered raising it but going in through the front door. It turns out our late night visitor was probably trying to forewarn us. God bless her!
