MRI

By now, it's all but a blur.

This was a big day for Jacoby. He had an MRI scheduled for late afternoon. He’s been having headaches everyday and his behavior a bit unusual. He’s been much more aggressive, and often times mean. Not leaving anything to chance, his pediatrician recommended an MRI to rule out anything physiologically wrong between his ears. He was understandably a little worried about the pending test, and he wouldn’t be allowed to have anything but water after 10am. Mindy softened the event by making his favorites for breakfast. She made blueberry muffins and maple bacon. In fact, we all enjoyed some of that. Mindy was nervous about the test too. I reminded her that it was entirely precautionary.

I drove the BM’er to work on yet another absolutely gorgeous spring day. The temperature was expected to top out around 85 degrees. The day had all the makings of a July summer day.

After my run I drove to Target to pick-up a few Mother’s Day cards for Mindy & my mother. I also picked up a couple of gifts for Mindy. I left the cards and gifts in the trunk expecting to get them out Friday morning after Mindy leaves for work.

Mindy contacted me around 4:20pm to let me know that the MRI was complete, and just how cooperative Jacob was. They didn’t even have to sedate him, which is rare. Most children and even plenty of adults need sedation to handle the MRI chamber. To celebrate the event, Mindy chose to take Jacob to dinner at the restaurant of his choosing. He, of course, chose Red Lobster. I agreed to meet them there as soon as I could.

I met them there at 5:35pm. Jacob had a double order of scampi. Mindy & I ordered the Ultimate Feast (shrimp, lobster tail, and crab legs) I paid a little extra for Alaskan King Crab versus snow crab. Remembering where we were, thus keeping expectations in check, everything was good. Jacob rode home with me in the BM’er.

I walked Ykraps who was more than ready to go outside. After walking him I began watering the flowers – front and back. They need extra watering the first couple weeks. I took a break and went in to tuck in the kids who were already in bed. Mindy headed to bed around 8:30pm leaving me to myself for a couple of hours. I used the time to play guitar on the deck, read, and blog. I headed to bed at 10:20pm.
