Trick-Or-Treat: guising

Peter Pan! G.D. Kaileigh in costume - pink pixie! Our pumpkin in costume Our pumpkin after too much coffee Just as I am supposed to, I leaped from my bed at 5:30am a sharp. Again, it’s so easy to get up during the early “fallback” phase. I completed my usual host of morning activities. Nothing out of the ordinary. The day began remarkably cooler than it was on Monday, and those lovely sunny skies wouldn’t be repeated either. Instead, it was expected to be a crappy rainy day. And as Trick-or-Treat befalls, the temps are supposed to drop into the upper 30’s. I wore my blonde wig, shorts, an old OSU sweatshirt, and water shoes to work for Halloween. Many asked who I was supposed to be, but I was no one in particular. As it turned out, I was the only one in the building dressed up. Hmmm? As the work day progressed the weather did nothing but worsen. By run time it was raining and raining pretty good. By the time I finished I was soaked to the bone. I left work on time and hell bent on being home to play Trick-or-Treat. Before the events began, I took Ykraps on his nightly walk. I was still in costume. Mindy’s ex, Jim M. showed up just before 6pm to take the kids out begging. It seemed a little strange for him to be at our house making himself at home and such but I was happy to accommodate and know it’s what’s best for the kids. Jim and the kids headed out the door shortly after 6pm. It was raw and rainy. I was almost certain that our numbers would be down due to the weather. But as it turned out, we had plenty of visitors. Jim and the kids returned a little after 7pm with their bounty. Jim stayed while they sorted their haul on the family room floor. We all took our cut. J He left for home about 15 minutes later. Mindy coaxed the kids upstairs to ready them for bed. I blogged. And just like always, I joined them upstairs for the tuck in process. We skipped reading since it was late. Mindy and I retreated to the family room. Mindy laid down in the middle of the room and fell asleep within minutes. I leaned against the big reading chair and did the same. I woke about an hour later, secured the home, filled my water glass and took an anti-inflammatory. When I returned to wake Mindy, she was already awake and heading upstairs. We were asleep before 10pm.
