Having the Seahawks number
Autumn amongst us.
I woke later than desired but certainly not late enough to drastically alter my routine. I was up and at my exercise ritual by 6:00am sharp. I was admittedly sluggish but found the strength to muster through it.
Finally, after ten minutes of excruciating exercises I was ready to hit the great outdoors with Ykraps. We reentered the home at 6:23am – almost a full 20 minutes later than usual. I readied a mug of coffee for myself and another for Mindy. I took hers upstairs. She was still asleep. I woke her and headed back down to begin the rest of my daily routine.
Truth be told, I did a poor job of meditating this morning due in part to the perceived time crunch and an overly busy mind. Regardless, I was feeling good basking in the glory of a Viking victory yesterday over the slipping Seahawks. We gave them an old-fashioned butt whoppin’ – 31 -13.
I did the usual lunch and breakfast prep thing with one exception. I didn’t make Mindy anything since she didn’t have to be at work today. She scheduled a ‘sick day’ to take Bella to an eye exam. Still, she was down stairs readying the kids since the appointment was set for 8:50am.
I took my shower and readied for work by 7:50am. Traffic was backed up headed south on Wilson, I noticed. Thankfully, I don’t go that way. I was at work by 8:15am.
The work day began as many others save for a meeting with my boss. It went pretty well. I managed, as usual, to leave for my run at close to 12:50pm. It was only in the upper thirties with a stiff breeze out of the NW. But I was prepared. I had my light winter gear and used it all. The run went well. An emergency squad followed me into the lot on my return with blaring siren and lights a flashin’. They went to the front entrance while I ran around to the back as normal. I wondered what was up. I went about my business and returned to my office after a wonderful hot shower.
I intercepted my boss and a few others in the hallway. It seems that one of our new guys had succumbed to some sort of seizure and an ambulance had to be called to administer some medical attention. We scrambled to get them the information they needed before taking him to the hospital. It wasn’t pretty I’m told.
The afternoon was busy beyond busy. I struggled to get out of the office even by 5:30pm. When I finally departed I made a beeline for home. Mindy and I had thought about doing dinner out, but because of the late hour we opted for leftovers. We had just about an hour to ourselves before the kids returned.
After their return we got them ready for bed in a jiffy then completed the usual read and tuck. Back downstairs we tuned into MNF to watch the Dallas Cowboys face off against the NY Giants. It was good hard hitting game. We watched downstairs until halftime then went upstairs to bed to catch a little more.
