Another day off work... It just doesn't get much better! Today Ashley and I went boating together, just the two of us. We went to Griggs Reservoir and we were one of only a small handful of boats out on the water even though the weather was ideal. We headed as far north as one can easily go and anchored just shy of 161. There we napped, read, and chatted about life, love, and our futures. It was a good father/daughter talk, but I think I freaked her out a little with my unusual candor about some of my personal relationships. As thunder began to rumble near, we pulled anchor and headed back in to the dock around 330PM. Later that evening I went to see brother Tom and co. Do some karaoke at Charts in Picktown. Present were Dad, Sheila, Shawn, and I. Shelly's parents attended too, as well as several friends of theirs. Tom sang some of his favorites and did exceptionally well. You can tell he's practiced a lot. I opted for ice water all-night for not wanting to drink and drive. I made it an early night and was home by 1030PM. Points of interests... Sheila plans to quit smoking tomorrow by using a new "shot" method. I wish her well in her journey and hope that it brings her the results she seeks. In fact, I hope that all of my family members find the strength and courage to give up cigarettes. I'll let the BLOG know how she's doing' come Friday or so.
