I was up at 530a and felt a little better than I expected. The combination of cold meds I took the night before (Nyquil and pseudoephedrine) seemed to do the trick, at least enough to let me sleep soundly. My sinuses were running like a faucet again, however, and my ears were clogged too. Sit-ups and push-ups left me a little dizzy, but the affects wore off quickly. Soon I was out walking Eiknarf. Once again, it was only in the mid 50s, so my fleece jacket was once again in order. Actually, the cool air felt good.
Back at the house I enjoyed some coffee and time on the internet. It was 610a in a hurry and time for meditation and stretching. Despite being ill, both went well. This time I decided it wise to wear long running pants in addition to a long sleeved wicking shirt. I felt much better out the door. For whatever the reason, my saliva glands were generating an inordinate amount of slobber as I carried out my run. I had to spit a mouthful every 15 second or so. And for the first time in years, my chest actually hurt from the cold. Using common sense, I decided to curb my run to just three miles. Once again, I soaked my running clothes through and through.
Back at the house I repeated the breakfast/lunch thing. I was off to the shower with coffee for Mindy by 725a. Once again, Mindy asked how I was feeling. Marginally better, but tired. I felt even better after a shower, and actually felt like I might be on the rebound. Finally! Mindy picked up some Dayquil Monday afternoon. I took two of those and put two more in my back pack for later.
I left for work around 745a arriving right at 8a. My team members noted how much better I sounded. I actually had a little energy too. I spent some time talking with a few others before holing up in my office for more online training. Around 11a I left the office to run a couple errands. First, I stopped at my bank and deposited a check, then paid a visit to the Mill Run Target to get sun block. I bought some SPF 8 and 15. I also picked up some Cutter and a six-pack of baseballs for the kids.
Back at the office I ate my packed lunch, including cheese and tuna. After lunch I dug back into my training agenda. It must've been around 3p when I started feeling really sick again. This time, however, it was different. More than anything, my equilibrium was off. I guessed it to be my stuffed sinuses impacting my ear canals. I tried unsuccessfully to make my ears pop several times. I completed another class and took the ensuing test. Believe me, that took everything I had to see it to completion. I had a couple visitors stop by to chat. One guy said I looked terrible - green even. I literally was having a difficult time standing. I talked with Mindy briefly - very briefly. I only told her that I felt like shit!
I'm thinking it was near 430p when I finally bagged it, grabbed my gear and headed for home. One of my engineer's stopped me and asked if I wanted a ride home. No, I'll be OK. Truth is, however, I felt awful. I was hoping the fresh air would help. It didn't.
I sat in the BM'er for a couple minutes feeling a little dizzy and nauseous. Once I got moving I felt incrementally better, but with each stop I would fall back into a funk. Something was definitely amiss. I had that horrible sick feeling in my stomach. Much more and I just knew I was gonna throw-up. I got stuck at every frickin traffic light possible. The last two lights I felt like I might faint. Lucky for me, I didn't. I made it home.
I went directly from the BM'er to my bed in a flash and quickly buried my face in my pillow. I'm not really sure when I actually talked with Mindy and the kids, but think it was a couple hours later after some good quality sleep. I woke feeling better but still a little piqued. I'm sure it was my sinuses because the more I blew my nose the better I felt.
The evening was mostly a blur, but seem to remember getting up around 9p to have a snack. I remember lying in bed watching Discovery Channel as darkness set in. I was joined first by Bella, then by Mindy and later even Jacob. By then I was feeling a whole lot better - still sick, but better. According to Mindy, I fell asleep for good with the TV on around 11-1130p.
