I was up right after the irrigation system stopped. That was roughly 520a. I brushed my teeth then headed to the kitchen to start some coffee. I glanced outside. It was completely clear. Hooray! I felt considerably better, but was still battling that cold.
I completed my exercises then spent some time online and sipping coffee. Eiknarf slept with Mindy & I. I can't recall if I walked her early or if I left her in bed with Mindy. That aside, my morning routine was much like any other day: coffee, internet, meditation, & stretching. I was ready for my run by 625a. I knew heading out the door that I was only going to run three miles. The long sleeved wicking shirt I wore the day before was one I left out on the deck to dry on Tuesday. It was a little damp from the overnight dew, but that quickly evaporated, at least until I soaked again it with sweat. :)
I was back at home around 7a. I started my breakfast and lunch routine right away. Can't recall a time when orange juice tasted any better. It was just what the doctor ordered. I was off to the shower along with Mindy's coffee at 725a. Told Mindy I was feeling better but very sleepy.
I was ready to go about 15 minutes later. Before heading downstairs I asked Mindy if she and the kids still planned a trip to Zoombezi Bay. Yep! Too bad the weather forecast was not so summery. The forecast called for partly/mostly cloudy skies and a high of 72. Not exactly swimming pool weather. They were supposed to meet her friend Teri, Masimo, and Giana along with nephew Joe.
The drive into work was invigorating. It clouded over considerably during my drive in. Once parked, I thought about putting the top up but didn't. Wasn't supposed to rain. Once again, I spent the lion's share of my day taking training classes. I thought I might take a break around 11a and run an errand but didn't. Instead, I just kept plugging away.
Like every other work day this week, I started to run out of gas early/mid afternoon. At 2p I decided to bag it and head for home. I was feeling poorly once again. Dang it! However, as I made my way to the BM'er I started to feel a little better. and by the time I was on I-270 towards home I felt good enough to run that errand I intended on running earlier. Instead of exiting at Roberts, I kept going to I-70W where I ventured to Hilliard-Rome Rd and eventually to Old Navy where I picked up a few pairs of boxers.
I hadn't been in Old Navy for at least a year. They've changed the check-out register format to be more like Best Buy (one queue - several clerks). I bought three pair. And why not? They were $8.50 each, or 3 for $15. I also bought a new swimming suit on sale for $10. It's black on black. I headed for home.
By the time I got home I was feeling about as human as I have felt since last Sunday morning. I got logged onto my work laptop then made myself some lunch, a turkey, ham and cheese sandwich along with some cottage cheese. It was really good. After lunch, I laid back in the recliner and did some reading and took a nap.
I'm not sure the time when Mindy, Joe, and the kids came in, but it was earlier than I expected. They couldn't have been at Zoombezi Bay very long. They were just heading in when I was leaving work. Joe didn't hang out too long at all. I kept napping after greeting and eventually bidding him farewell.
Around 430-445p I got up and logged back into work and took another two hour training course. It seemed like it took forever. I finished it and the associated exam around 715p. It felt really good to have that one completed - a bonus of sorts.
Afterwards, I headed out to water the flowers and top off the fountain. The kids asked me to squirt them with the hose. It was too chilly for that, still only about 70 degrees. The kids headed down to the neighbors to play kickball until dark. Mindy and I chatted from the sofa. I eventually popped myself some popcorn and poured a Diet Coke and watched the Science Channel. I watched two shows: How the Universe Works and then In through the Worm Hole. Both were gripping.
Jacob watched the last program to its end with me. I was impressed that he liked the topic that much. It attempted to answer the question of whether we have a soul and dove deep into the science of the brain. We headed for bed at 10p. I turned on the TV from bed too, and watched an episode of Southpark. It was funny. Fell asleep around 1030p.
