Full Blown Throbber
I might’ve been a little groggy but that dissipated quickly. I was up just after 5:30am and was ready to get after my routine. I felt surprisingly well, and whizzed right through my calisthenics. After completing the rest of my morning tasks I was set to run.
I ran the full four miles feeling quite good. I didn’t make it back home until 7:18am. I spent the next 20 minutes preparing my lunch and breakfast. I had to put everything together from scratch. The day’s weather was expected to be gorgeous, with oodles of sunshine and temps in the mid 80’s. The humidity was expected to be near normal, too.
This would be a BM’er day.
By the time I got to work I began feeling a little less than on top of my game, especially as the work day wore on. And by day’s end, I had the makings of a sinus headache coming on along side a slight fever. Ugh! Are you kidding me?
Despite me not feeling 100%, Mindy really wanted to go out for dinner after dropping the kids at vacation bible school. Whatever pleases you, dear. Incidentally, Mindy spent the afternoon at the pool with the kids and Lil’ Rocky. Lindsey dropped him off there after getting Mindy’s approval.
I had no appetite after arriving home. I used the time to rest while Mindy dropped the kids at Bible school. I still had the onset of what seemed like a sinus headache. Still felt feverish too.
When Mindy got back, she took my temperature. It was 100.1 – a little warm. She was insistent that I phone my doctor for an appointment tomorrow AM. Aside from caring for me, I can’t help but think she had a selfish motive, too. She didn’t want to spend a week in Florida with me cranky & ill. J We soon left for dinner fully intending to visit El Vaq. But just as we approached the tracks at Old Dublin, she mentioned Vito’s in Hilliard. If we took a quick left on Old Dublin we could be there in five minutes. That’s what we did.
Mindy claimed the food good having eaten at the Grove City location, although I don’t think it’s there anymore. We chose seating on their patio. It was drafty and the music a little loud, but other than that, it was cozy. I mention drafty most likely because I didn’t feel well. My head was throbbing, and headaches are something I don’t generally get, save for the rare hangover headache. Mindy ordered a pasta dish and me a sausage Pannini Napoli. We both ordered side salads, too with blackberry vinaigrette. I wasn’t that hungry at all, and ate very little of my order. I boxed most to-go. Mindy ate most of hers, however. Good food – decent tab - $31. Brittney & Tiffany were our servers. Both were attentive.
We zoomed off for home in the BM’er down Scioto-Darby Rd. – definitely a fun drive with the top down. Back home, I was fading fast. We spent a little time chatting before Mindy needed to zoom off to Bible School to fetch the kids. Rocky would be coming back with her, too, and was spending the night. She asked that I inflate the air mattress in Bella’s room. I did. In fact, I even did the sheets.
They were back home and tucked in bed by 9:15pm. In what’s become somewhat of a tradition when Rocky spends the night, he asks one of us, usually me, to tell a story about him. Given his druthers, it would be about when he was in his mommy’s belly. :) Mindy being unaware, went down a different road, although one that stroked his fragile little ego. She spoke about how good of boy he was and how awesome he was at riding a bike, which is something that raised both of our eye brows earlier considering that Jacob just learned. Rocky earlier in the afternoon demonstrated not only the ability to ride a two-wheeler, but also to pop wheelies and ride with one, and then no hands. Wow! Of course, after telling Rocky’s story, Bella & Jacob asked for one too. Mindy obliged all three.
Soon we were heading off to bed, and none too soon for me. I felt really bad. My slight headache was now a full blown throbber. And while I was sleepy, I didn’t readily fall asleep
