By now Thursday’s almost a complete blur. I know that I was up on time and also remember running in the rain. There was even some thunder and lightning, although most of it off in the distance. Ykraps and I got pretty darn wet while on our walk even though I used the purple “dog walking” umbrella.
Mindy asked me to make a batch of tuna salad for lunch which I did just before setting out on my morning run. I enjoyed another helping of breakfast casserole along with a large helping of fruit.
Work went well. I didn’t go anywhere for lunch, and didn’t break into my packed food save for my mid-morning snack of mixed nuts. I did snack on a couple of snickerdoodle cookies brought in by one of my engineers who was celebrating his birthday.
I stopped at Kroger on the way home to buy Mindy some flowers. As she’ll attest, it’s been a while. I knew that she wouldn’t be home upon my arrival. She had an after school reading event scheduled and was taking both kids, too. I was excited about the prospect of having a little alone time after work – something that’s fairly rare these days. She had already let me know that the roofers didn’t show, but then again, they said it would either be today or tomorrow.
After arriving home I took care of my immediate chores. At first I felt like napping but that feeling faded as I got involved with a few miscellaneous chores. I decided to organize & file a stack of mail that’s been setting out since early June. What a relief it was to finally address that growing pile. Now energized, I decided to play catch-up on my blog – complete with pics.
Before I knew it, it was 7:30pm and Mindy returned home with the kids. And almost in one fell swoop Mindy had the kids settled into bed. Not having any official dinner, I opted for a bowl of popcorn for the first time in a couple of weeks. At the same time, I tuned into the Thursday night college football game on ESPN featuring Boise State – the team with the blue field.
