Double Dog Dare Ya!

I was feeling incredibly good this morning and for good reason. This was Friday and the weekend outlook was spectacular. I put myself through the usual paces finding myself back home for coffee just after 6am. The morning air was warm for late September with temperatures hovering just over 60 degrees. The day’s high temperature was expected to reach well into the mid 80’s under clear skies. Furthermore, the weekend outlook calls for more of the same.

I delivered Mindy’s coffee then dressed for a run. I wore shorts and a sleeveless running shirt. I was quite comfortable. I’ve noticed a significant change in the morning sky this week as I set out on my run. No longer is the sky orange at the outset. That doesn’t happen until I am almost half way home.

I was back from my run by 7:10am & stretching my hammie’s on the front porch. Mindy and Bella departed after woofing down a quick breakfast. Before heading up for a shower, I filled a medium sized container with some of my homemade salsa and grabbed a fresh bag of Lime Tostitos to take to work.

I drove the BM’er. It was such a nice day. I left the office around 1pm with a planned stop at Lowes and then The Big Greek Cuisina. I left Lowe’s empty handed. I drove to The BGC to fetch myself a gyro. It smelt terrific but I didn’t take even a bite until I got back to the office. Ahh – that gyro was so good!

I left for home around 515pm. This was a kidless weekend. We had plans to visit Barley’s Friday night, go boating on Saturday, and golf on Sunday. Somewhere amongst all of that I wanted to make significant progress on my garage storage project too. Mindy was at the grocery when I arrived home. I had the house to myself. After walking Ykraps I decided to sneak a brief nap. Later, just before Mindy got home, I painted the remaining side of the framing 2X4s.

Mindy arrived home around 7pm. I helped her carry in the groceries. By the time things settled down it was after 8pm. We didn’t leave for Barley’s until 8:30pm. We were most likely already marked tardy or possibly even absent. J We got seats at the bar readily. I was happy for that. I was eager to drink a few good beers and eat some fine chicken wings. That’s livin’! They had St Joan’s Revenge on the firkin, too! And while I had one, I was more excited to see the Double Dog Dare IPA back on the tower!!!!

We had a wonderful time. This was Janet’s last night. We gave her a card and an extra tip. She’ll be missed. Everyone was present sometime through the evening. Even brother Tommy made a rare appearance. We didn’t leave until it was almost midnight. Mindy drove home. I think that I had five beers – more than ever! I didn’t feel that buzzed, however – just happy!

After taking three Advil we/I headed to bed.
