Resurrecting Friday...It's all coming back
Didn't have these even at West High School
Donut remenants
some appealing kiddie art (Picasso-like)
Tis that season...
Friday is almost a blur by now, but I do recall “the big rocks”. It was sunny and chilly. I felt good about the weekend ahead, especially after feeling a bit like a sacrificial lamb the weekend before. This weekend would be work-free and house guest free.
Before going to work I attended Donuts with Dad with Jacoby (see school pics). I dropped Jacob at Grandma Sharon's on my way to work. Little Rocky, who was already there, was surprisingly happy to see me and gave me a big ol' hug, so did Bella. I made it to work by 9:00am. The work day was moderate. I completed an unusually early run just because I could. I didn’t hear from any family members by phone or by email.
I left work just after 5pm and headed directly home. Mindy was still a little under the weather but wanted to go to Barleys. She had made arrangements for Christopher, the 15 yr old son of a close friend, to come over and watch the kids. Our plan was to head out about an hour earlier than usual and return around 9:30pm. That is what we did.
We arrived at Barleys just after 7:30pm. Most of the Friday regulars were present. We ordered some food shortly after I began sipping my first beer. I ordered my usual Gates of Hell wings with a side basket of onion straws. Mindy ordered a salad. And because of her cold, she didn’t drink any alcohol save for a few sips of my second beer.
We tried encouraging Bob to have a Michigan game clubhouse event, but Bob was still largely non-committal. We’ll just have to see. Mindy reminded me come 9:15pm that she wanted to leave soon. I obliged by finishing off my third beer. Throughout the evening, I had two IPA’s with a St Joan’s Revenge sandwiched between.
We left and were home by 9:40pm. Mindy gave Chris a ride home while I surfed the web. She was back by 10:10pm. We talked for a spell but then headed to bed. As I recall, Mindy fell asleep before me.
