How Do I Get Out of This One?
I woke a few times throughout the night but never for longer than a couple of minutes. The first time was due to Bella calling for her mommy. And because of my poor eyesight, at first glance I thought it was near 4:30am, but after a second glance I realized it wasn't yet midnight. It was closer to 11:30pm. I went to bed somewhere near 9pm so I had a couple hours under my belt by then.
The next time I woke it was 2 something, and then again around 4am. I got up for good at 5:24am and was downstairs at 5:28am. I felt very rested and marched through my exercise and vitamin routine like nothing. I leashed up Ykraps for our morning walk and left the house around 5:40am. It was spitting micro droplets of rain but nothing to be concerned about. But once we reached our halfway point, or the farthest point from the house, it begna to rain hard. Here I was, no hat, and getting soaked. And of course Ykraps insisted on doing some major sniffing around about the same time. Suddenly my peaceful, tranquil mood turned a bit stormy.
And wouldn't you know it, it stopped soon after we got back inside. Hmmm? After toweling off myself and Ykraps, i made Mindy her coffee and took it to her in bed. She woke for a second, slid to my side of the bed, and asked for a hug and kiss. I obliged then left her alone so I could attend to the rest of my normal morning business. I did some peaceful mediatation and read the Daily OM. I had lots of extra time due in part to my slightly early rise as well as having no need to pack either of us a lunch. Mindy was lunching with a friend, and we are having a holiday pot luck at work.
I did make our usual eggs & fruit for breakfast. Today featured fried eggs. Jacob joined us downstairs sometime around 7:00am. Bella never did come down for breakfast. She chose ot lay in our bed watchign her usual Sponge Bob DVD. You'd think that she'd be sick of that damn thing, but apparently not.
Mindy commented about diving head first back into her low-carb eating for gaining five pounds on our trip and needing to be in the brides maid dress this Saturday for her friend Shelly's wedding. Without giving it much thought, I spouted off my standard weight loss lecture. Now's never a good time to be thinking of trying to lose weight for a coming event. That time was last spring. Need I say, she didn't care for my comment. I meant no harm, however. Apparently it's just something you don't say to your S.O.
My point, of course, was relative to the weight loss infomercials you see in late spring that offer miraculous weight loss programs to help you fit into that bikini by summer. Come on! Should've of been working on that even before winter.
And just as Mindy's noted for doing, she aired her feelings minutes later. All better! :)
She loaded the car and I retrieved Bella and brought her downstairs. She inisted on being carried stating something about her feet huring too much. She's something else! Soon they were gone and I was in the shower. I shaved this mornign too, which took a couple extra minutes. I didn't rush myself by any measure. I took some time to pay bills, play guitar, and tidy up before heading off to work.
I arrived to work by 8:20am. Things were not so busy this morning allowing me time to catch up on some dangling issues. I left for the Honey Baked store at 10:40am, just as I had planned. We ordered a whole ham and three roasted turkey breasts for our potluck. I agreed to expense the meat. I was at the Honey Baked store in no time flat. And since I was on Sawmill Rd, I stopped in Pier 1, Border's Books, and The Buckeye Corner. I spent no more than 20 minutes in total perusing thier wares.
I was back at the office by 11:45am. I called one of my peers to come help me carry in the goods. There were plenty of bring ins too. Many of the engineers cooked up some really good stuff. Before i would eat a thing, I would have to run. I left to run at 12:05pm. It was fairly warm once again, cloudy but warm. It was in the mid 60's. And it was a good run. I worked up quite the sweat, due in part to the heavy humidity.
I was back and ready to eat by 1:20pm. By now most of the engineers had alredy began eating. We had about eight pies & cakes, several crocks full of potatoes, as well as many other delicious sides. And we had the main course, the Honey Baked meats. It was goooood! I had too much. I could pass up some of the desserts either. I had two or three.
I was full.
We had a ton of leftovers by days end. Any worry that we wouldn't have enough for our C-shifters was put to rest. Besides, we had already carved off about 4 lbs of meat and put it in the fridge just for them. now, however, there were a butt load of sides and even more meats and dessert. I took a little home.
Mindy called as I was leaving work. I tried calling Ashley too, to see how her day with Stephen unfolded but got only her VM. This is the first time that jerk has seen Olivia. I wish he'd just go away. As i told her, even a jerk will want to see his 'trophy' at least once.
Any how, Mindy had been off of work since noon time. She had a doctor's appointment and then a plethora of Xmas shopping to do. She was heading home at the same time as I. While conversing she realized that she forgot to pick-up the wedding gift she was having gift wrapped at Lane Avenue Mall befor leaving. She swore a few choice words and then professed to be going back before choir practice later this evening.
At home we walked Ykraps together. We tried to reach Bob to see if they had the baby today, but to no avail. We left a VM - no answer. We tried dad, too. No answer. I didn't bother leaving him a VM; he doesn't know how to retrieve them.
Back home Mindy dove into the Honey Baked ham I brought home. Meanwhile, I took the rope light set I bought last evening at Target out to the deck to replace the strand that has a section burnt out. To my chagrin, the plug size doesn't match-up with the existing lights even though they're the same brand. That's crap. I thought they looked ever so slightly smaller. I may have to live with the 4 feet of burnt section, or repalce all three strands. That'll be a $30 expense, however.
Mindy soon left for Lane Avenue mall, Choir, and a quick stop at her mom's. She insisted that the kids would behave when Jim drops them later. Jacob, as you may already know, can be quite the handful when he's dropped off to me alone. It makes me a little nervous, still.
After she left and before the kids arrived I played some guitar, placed Jacob's bike on garage hooks. In the process, I noticed that the new box of DCON I put in the garage has already been half eaten. I carried Bella's tiny little bike to the basement. I blogged until the kids got home at 7:40pm. The drop went OK except for jacob calling Bella a liar whe nshe blerted out that Jacob didn't like me. :) Jim left after only two minutes inside. I allowed the kids to enjoy some Halloween candy before readying for bed.
