No Cavities & Loud Shoes

Awake and feeling pretty good at 525a, I decided not to tempt fate and went ahead and rolled out of bed. It was 531a by the time I had brushed my teeth, gathered my running clothes, and made my way down to the kitchen. I put in eye drops, gazed skyward out the back door then went for my exercise shoes. After 55 sit-ups I checked the day's weather forecast and headlines. It was 30 degrees under crystal clear skies. I was most curious about the election results, although half afraid to look. But once I did, I saw that my candidates won. Yeah! Now, just maybe, we can get the economy back on track. I read a little more about the Vikings release of Randy Moss, too. What a mess! Next up, 55 push-ups and coffee. The extra five minutes gave me more time for meditation. For most of that time, Frankie insisted on sitting on my lap. Moving forward, I may start leaving her penned up until afterwards. She and I headed out before stretching. Wow, the moon was waning and just a small sliver hanging low in the eastern sky. However, it was so clear that I could see the entire orb despite its phase. Lots of stars visible too. Frankie was slow to take care of her business and when she finally did, she only pee’d. I began to grow angry with her lollygagging. Inside, it was already 620a. I completed a good stretch then re-penned Frankie, not wanting to risk her taking a dump in our bedroom. She’s done it before. When delivering Mindy’s coffee, I made sure that she was aware why I left Frankie behind. Meanwhile, I could hear her throwing a fit from her pen. Whipping up Mindy’s coffee is her her queue for heading up, and she always gets real excited. Not today. I wore the same attire I wore the day before, including gloves and ear covers. That proved ideal for the chilly conditions. I can tell that my body is already beginning to adjust to autumn’s sub-freezing temps. Funny how that works. I was out the door earlier than I’ve been in a couple of weeks. It was 633a. I ran the full 4.1 miles without incident. It was a fast, easy run, a run where I became lost in thought. Hardly seemed possible that it was over when it was. Like the past few days, I went right for Mindy’s keys once back at home. Bella was picking at the fried eggs on my plate, although she was having a Pop-Tart. I shared several bites. Jacob asked about the election results during breakfast. He and I were rooting for the same gubernatorial candidate. I teased Mindy about the results a little. She took it well, though. She thanked me for warming her car, then departed for school near her usual time. I let Frankie lick the egg remnants from my paper plate. She loves it! With a few minutes to spare, I sliced some cheese and gathered some fruit to throw in my lunch. I headed up for a shower shortly after 730a. remembering thatI had a 1230p dental appointment, I flossed extra carefully. Of course, I floss everyday anyhow, but I don’t always go under my retainer and bridge. But please, don’t tell anyone!  I was downstairs early. I used the extra time to get fully prepared for departure ahead of bus time. I planned to take my golf clubs to work too, just in case the guys wanted to try and get in nine holes after work one last time. This will be the absolute last week it will even be possible. The kids and I headed out at 757a. I started the Trooper on my way to the bus stop. Chrissy was out with the girls. I shared that I would be happy to take Jake with me if he happens to over sleep again. She asked if she could leave Lillian with me tomorrow while she runs Kayla to school early for choir practice. Sure. The bus arrived on time. I was fairly quick taking care of the last few things on my agenda, which included loading my golf clubs in to the Trooper. I left the house around 815 and even arrived at work a few minutes early. Work was busy, but that’s exactly what I expected. All in all, it was a crazy sorta day. I kept my eye on the clock, needing to leave just before noon to make it on time to my dental appointment. I left for it at 1155a. It was a lovely day, and a bit warmer than it’s been the previous few days. I arrived at Dr March’s office just ahead of my 1220p appointment time. I waited just a minute before Heather guided me back to the familiar chair. After some small talk we got started on my cleaning, x-rays, and check up. I shared the discomfort I have been experiencing in the back, upper left. Talked about a possible root canal. The cleaning went well, but took quite a long time, probably 45 minutes. Dr March stopped in to due the exam and check the area of concern. He tested it with heat and cold, and believe me, I do mean cold! But all the teeth in that area responded as normal. The X-rays didn’t show any issues with the roots or nerves, either. Offered that the far back molars have roots that extend into the sinus cavity and if there’s infection or fluid present, it can feel like a toothache. Thought that I might’ve been experiencing those symptoms. Either way, the symptoms have been greatly diminished recently. We set up my next appointment for the second week of May, and I headed back to the office. I thought I might stop for a haircut on the way back, but I had already been gone for 80 minutes. Before pulling out of the lot, I sent Bob I an email measuring his interest in golf. I arrived back at work by 125p. The afternoon was busy. Bob I. responded at some point regarding golf. Couldn’t make it happen. Bummer! Things were fairly busy so I didn’t fret over it much. Talked with Mindy on her drive home from school. Among other things, she asked about dinner. Barley’s, burgers, or wings? I nixed Barley’s right away, but left the options for dinner at home open. Bella called me a few minutes later to ask me a question about the number of pockets I have. At first confused, I offered up five. Apparently related to a homework assignment. I left the office a few minutes late. Things were hopping. The drive home went well. For the first time in while, I listened to Sports Radio. The Vikings release of Randy Moss is still a hotly debated topic. I arrived home near 6p. Inside, I quickly learned that Mindy was making both burgers and wings, apparently an effort to appease everyone’s taste. There was a time when we would have home made hot wings once a week. Anymore, however, it’s a rarity. She made burgers for us and the wings for Jacob, although there were enough wings for all of us. My burger was scrumptious, and I topped with Monterey Jack, tomato, red onion, pickle and lettuce, and Grey Poupon. As a side, she warmed a can of green peas. We all got a chuckle out of Frankie eating the fews peas that fell to the floor after doubting she’d like them. Duh! After woofing down my burger I enjoyed a few wings too. They were equally delicious. Clean-up took a little while with the wing and burger pan the most difficult. Dinner clean-up was history by 7p. I spent the next hour or so on the PC updating my blog and catching up on Vikings gossip. To the family room. I checked the Science Channel listings and was disappointed to learn that nothing good was on. Crap! But a check of ESPN2 revealed a rare Wednesday college football game. We watched it passively with me napping through most of it. It seemed to me that Bella was talking incredibly loud. I asked her to tone it down a time or two. But not only that, she had on some dress-up shoes that we crazy loud on the ceramic tile flooring as well. I asked her to please remove the shoes, too. Jacob watched a little of the football game with me until Mindy declared it bedtime. I headed up to tuck both in around 9p. I was wide awake after all that. Mindy and I watched two half hour shows we hadn’t seen before, both on network TV – something we rarely do. One was called Modern Family. Can’t recall the other. Both made us laugh lots. I’m quite sure that it was 10p after both. Mindy soon headed for bed. I stayed up long enough to catch the end of the football game between USF and Rutgers. Rutgers lost. I put Frankie in her pen around 1030p and headed up to bed.
