Take Sominex Tonight and Sleep ...

I never did sleep as deeply as I would’ve liked, and the fact that I got only 4.5 hours would wear on me all day long. This I knew from the moment I stepped foot out of bed. I didn’t care. I was still drawing energy from the Vikings big victory. I completed my calisthenics then leashed up Ykraps for a walk outdoors. It was clear and chilly – only 44 degrees. My knee felt good while walking. I didn’t feel the slightest pinch. I still worried how my run might go. Hopefully better than Monday’s. I enjoyed a cup of coffee immediately after the walk, then took Mindy a cup. I returned downstairs to meditate and stretch before setting out on my run. I dressed warmly wearing long running pants, a winter wicking shirt, and a pullover fleece. Like the day before, I had a difficult time establishing a gate but eventually did. I did my level best to draw my attention away from my knee and instead forced thought to the Vikings big victory. That helped a lot, although it still acted up a few times. More importantly, I kept my promise and ran just three miles. Mindy had scrambled eggs awaiting my return. They were good. Along with the eggs I enjoyed a few pieces of fruit. Bella and I had our usual morning banter just before and after Mindy left. Our house was still decorated from Bella’s b-day party and a huge pile of b-day gifts was still resting on the family room floor. It was beginning to bother me, but unable to deal with it right then, I did my best to overlook it for the time being. I was in and out of the shower in short order. The kids and I left for the bus stop at 7:55am. It was nice and sunny but still rather chilly. Kenny & I briefly discussed my knee problems. I so hope it will go away soon. I know it will! I headed off to work at 8:15am. While gas was only $2.17 on Monday, it was marked up to $2.38 during my commute in. Work was kind of tough after being out for four days in a row. I had lots of catching up to do, which took me a better part of the morning, or the first half of the day. I heard from Mindy late in the afternoon. Said Jacob went home sick with Noah’s mom. Noah was sick too. Noah was diagnosed with H1N1 just last week. He was thought to be better. However, the symptoms Mindy shared didn’t sound like the flu. She also shared that she was stopping at Kroger on her way home to get a few things. She asked if I would stop to pick-up her prescription at CVS. I already planned a stop at Kroger to get Wednesday potluck supplies (my contribution). Before leaving work, I changed my mind and instead of stopping at Kroger for potluck supplies, I would simply stop at Tim Horton’s on my way into work Wednesday and pick-up a few dozen donuts. That would go over well with my team and save me from making two stops in route to home Tuesday evening. I stopped at CVS. There were two prescriptions ready, which totaled $25. Crap! I hate that. I took the back way home from Mill Run and arrived near 6pm. Mindy already walked Ykraps making it easier for me to transition directly to dinner. Incidentally, Mindy picked up a rotisserie chick from Kroger along with some Bob Evans mashed potatoes. That made dinner prep simple. The chicken was tender, juicy, and tasty. I liked it much. I had two helpings. After clean-up I couldn’t help myself and had one of Bella’s b-day brownies. They’re thick and delicious. All that food in my belly coupled with a scant 4.5 hours of sleep Monday night, I was pooped. While Mindy and Bella did homework I plopped down on the sofa sometime around 7pm suggesting a 15 minute nap. My 15 minute nap turned into an entire night’s sleep. I woke once with Bella tickling my feet, but fell quickly back asleep. I woke again around 9pm and snuck off to bed. I still felt ridiculously tired. I heard Mindy come up at some point but I have no idea what time or what she said. I was pooped!
