Pretty Up the Junk Fridge

I slept like a rock and didn’t wake until almost 5:45am. By then the irrigation system was twirling away. It didn’t wake me, which is highly unusual. I hurried off downstairs to begin my exercise regimen and then to walk Ykraps who was whining by the door. He wanted/needed to go out. I did a full complement of exercises including curls. We walked west under clear blue skies and moderate temps - about 66 degrees. Because it was well past 6am when we got back home I spent comparatively little time on the PC. I moved to meditation and stretching at 6:20am. I got myself back on track. I left for my morning run at 6:40am. Once again, my run went well. I was back home preheating the frying pan by 7:20am. I packed my lunch and fried two eggs then enjoyed another quiet breakfast. I delivered Mindy’s coffee before my shower. She talked about staying home from the pool today since Jacob really didn’t want to go. I was showered and ready to depart a tad early. Mindy came down to enjoy another cup of coffee with me before I left for work. I headed off to work in the BM’er around 8:15am. The work day went along smoothly, but I never got a real break all day long. I must admit that was largely self-imposed. It’s just that it was almost 2pm when I looked up and by then it made little sense to take an hour. I drudged on through instead. Mindy went to lunch with her mother and the kids at Minelli’s. She said Jacob wanted Barley’s for dinner. Not me. Later, she changed her mind and grilled chops instead. I arrived home around 6:00pm after not leaving the office until 5:45pm. Things were dicey up until then. I walked Ykraps while Mindy finished prepping dinner. Mindy washed the old Fridgidare fridge that AEP was expected to pick-up on Wednesday morning. She plugged it in too. They left a VM on Monday evening indicating that it had to be working when the picked it up – something they had previously failed to tell us. It looked cleaner than I thought it could ever be. I checked the temperature. It was still hot. I really hated to leave it run, but no choice. Dinner was really good. The chops were juicy with just the right amount of seasoning. Bella was reluctant to try hers but eventually did and liked it. We had broccoli as our main side, and then some leftover coleslaw too. I ate two homemade brownies after dinner for dessert. They were delicious but made me very sleepy. I wanted nothing more than to take a nap. But for the time being I resisted the urge. While Mindy ran some brownies down to the neighbors, I cleaned up the dinner dishes. As soon as I was done I plopped down on the sofa. It was about 7pm. I was out! I woke briefly around 815pm and heard Mindy behind me on her laptop. I went right back to sleep for another good hour. I woke around 9:15pm still groggy but with a few aches and pains form sleeping on the sofa. That always happens. Just as I was gaining my second wind, Mindy was tucking in the kids and preparing for bed herself. I tucked in the kids but then headed back downstairs to do a little writing in my blog. I promised Mindy I’d come to bed soon. It was only 9:30pm. I stayed up another 40 minutes, or until 10:10pm. I wasn’t overtly tired but felt like I could go to sleep. For the past five or six days I have been denied myself the sleep I need.
