Ski & tube part one

Ready - Set - Tube!!!!
Tuesday morning was cloudy and cool. Any worry we had of being too hot was certainly cast aside. Everyone of us were chilled to the bone. It must’ve dipped well into the 50’s. Eventually I found warmth by placing my face under the sleeping bag. I got up around 730am – big surprise. I made a pot of coffee and had a few donuts before setting out on a run. I also walked to the boat just to make sure everything was still intact. It was.

The sky began to burn off during my run. I ran for about 30 minutes. After some additional coffee and a little Frisbee throwing with Jacoby I left for Paul’s Marine on Rt 23. At Paul’s I browsed all the new boats then bought the tail light kit I needed for my boat trailer. I returned to the camp grounds where I stopped off at the camp dock to install the light kit. That took about an hour soup to nuts.

I made my way back to camp where Mindy announced that Teri and Masimo were coming up. She went to shower while I entertained the kids. Teri showed about five minutes or so before Mindy returned. Soon all of us set out for a day on the lake. Tommy called to let us know that he was coming up too. He’d meet us at the dock. Masimo, Bella, Mindy, and Teri all tubed. Mindy did some more skiing. Jacoby would have none of it. Tommy met us around 2pm and immediately offered to pull me around on the tube. I hadn’t tubed in probably ten years. I got a good burn on to be sure. I rode that thing hard! I showed them all how to manage the tube a little. I was ore when I finished. We drove to the swimming cove when I was done. There we hung for a couple of hours. Tommy had to head in to work at 5pm.

He agreed to pull me on skis before departing. I skied on two until my arms tired. I tried to slalom about 5 or 6 times but to no avail. My arms were spent! We dropped Tommy at the dock and then returned to the lake for more fun on the water. We boated again until almost 6pm. Teri and Masimo left soon after we returned. Bella and I left to get more gas and ice on Rt 23 after starting the grill. We took the two empty 5 gallon containers. We got our gas and ice and returned around 7pm. When I retuned we prepped our fire for later and then began grilling our burgers. Our burgers wee delicious. Mindy had all sorts of fruit and veggies prepared to complement. I drank a few beers as we sat around the fire. Mindy made the kids smores. I had one too – my first ever. We went to bed around 11pm.
