Soccer, Sunday Dinner, & Oliva's Plea

Up at 730am It was a non-exercise day so I let Frankie out of her pen right away It stormed overnight but stopped after daybreak. The skies remained cloudy, however. While coffee brewed, I took the dog out. Sipped coffee and checked in with work I thought about re-penning Frankie during my run but opted to take her to Mindy instead. She was out of it – in a deep sleep. I felt bad waking her. She took Frankie anyway Ran my usual Sunday route, and only three miles. Offered to make a big Sunday breakfast. Mindy at first accepted then recanted Made one for myself – left over steak and eggs Mindy & I took an hour long nap sometime around 11am Kenny knocked on the door just after we woke asking my interest in Sunday golf. Couldn’t golf – Jacob’s soccer game and on-call Needing to leave for soccer around 130pm, I potted two of the geraniums in the deck hanging baskets then removed the broken heater from the hot tub. Mindy reminded me of the time as I finished up. I had only 15 minutes to get ready. I was in a foul mood after misplacing my expensive Klein screw driver in my haste to put everything away. Mindy found it while I showered. Left it on the black granite counter tops – guess it was blending in. We left for soccer at 140pm. Stopped at CVS in Mill Run first to pick-up a prescription for Mindy. To the Hilliard soccer fields. Windy and rainy during soccer match – cool even. We endured. Game ended at 315pm 0 to 0. Defensive struggle At home we all had a snack but nothing too heavy. We’d be attending Sunday dinner around 4pm. We agreed to take Frankie too Left for Gloria’s at 405pm. Not first to arrive – Larry tells of their recent trip to NYC – good story – airline troubles, accommodations in Tribeca, saw David Letterman show, Ellis Island, Central park, bad service most places. Joe shares that he and Jerry ended their relationship – Mindy talked with him at length about it. Seemed sad. Rained all through dinner and after. Jacob played basketball in the rain after dinner. Soaked. Dinner celebrating Mindy’s brother’s birthday – lasagna - lemon cheesecake – ice cream sandwich pie. Gloria’s shared her unsolicited opinion on the process we used to name Frankie. We left for home at 715pm agreeing to stop by and see Ashley & Olivia along the way. Olivia left a VM earlier in the evening saying that her bag was packed and that she was ready to come over. Too cute! Warmed my heart. Of course, we had made no such plans. We got to Ashley’s 10 minutes later. Olivia was excited to see Frankie – held her too tight, and wouldn’t let her down. Mindy & I worried that she was hurting Frankie. Olivia’s not one to share. She wasn’t too pleased surrendering her back to us. As a diversion, Bella asked Olivia to show her, her bedroom. Invited Olivia to stay with us next weekend. Our visit brief – about 15 minutes. At home, the kids were encouraged to ready for bed quickly. Both had showers and were in bed by 9pm. I sipped a bourbon and Coke while relaxing on the sofa. I checked in with work around 930pm. I had to get involved in a couple ongoing issues before bed. I was really tired and finally got to bed just before 11pm.
