Karma Camilla ... you come and go

I was up for good just before 5:30am after waking two times prior. I felt really good and was eager to get downstairs and get my exercise routine underway. I wasn’t overly excited about going back to work, but at the same time much appreciate being gainfully employed. After finishing my pre run routine I was out the door for my run at 6:35am under mostly cloudy skies. Lucky for me, there wasn’t any rain in the immediate area. My run went as planned, and I was back at home by 7:15am. Mindy had the kids up, my lunch packed, and my breakfast on the table. She left after fixing Bella’s hair. I didn’t fool around, knowing that we needed to be walking out the door no later than 8:00am, or perhaps even sooner given the 8:03am pick-up time. I was back downstairs by 7:47am. I had a few minutes to prep my stuff for work before walking out the door with the kids. I got a kick out of the three girls, Bella, Makayla, and Lillian, debating on who should get on the bus first. You, no you, no you! They all three sit in the same seat, too. Jacob sits well off from the girls in a seat by himself. I left for work after some final prep. I was on the road by 8:10am. I stopped for gas at Thornton’s. Gas was $2.21 per gallon. The Trooper took 17.5 gallons. I arrived to work on time and was surprised to learn that my peer was out with potentially dangerous heart issues. Beyond that, there wasn’t much more information. The work day started smoothly. I left for lunch around 12:45pm. I was going to buy new golf balls but at the last minute decided to pooh-pooh that idea. Instead, I headed to Tuttle Mall to buy new running shoes. My current pair would soon hit the 5-month and 600 mile mark on 9/10. I parked behind Macy’s and entered through their lower level. I picked up a new white wicking golf shirt priced at 50%-off – really good deal. I made my way out to the mall and onto Finish Line. The same young lady that’s helped the past two times helped me again today. I selected a pair of Nike Trailwinds on sale for $49.99. I’ve learned that the most comfortable running shoes are rarely the expensive/trendy ones. I cut through Macy’s on my way back to the Trooper, but before heading out I shopped frying pans since our 10” skillet is starting to peel Teflon, which I just know can’t be good. They had none that I liked on sale, which I know they often are, so I decided to wait. Back to work. Mindy and I talked around 4pm during her drive home. The kids were at Noah’s. She asked about a dinner preference. I sided with Bella – spaghetti and meatballs. I left work at 5:50pm after a busy late afternoon. Mindy said that dinner was already on the table. I arrived home around 6:15pm. We had more of those scattered afternoon showers hit today. In fact, it was pouring as I left Hilliard but sunny over home. That went on all day, and was predicted to continue through Wednesday AM. The spaghetti was good. During dinner, nephew Joe phoned to let us know that Camilla was ‘home’ from Denmark. He invited us over to hang out and visit. We accepted, and after dinner clean-up we all headed over to Jodi & Larry’s. Camilla was last home for Xmas. She came home this time for Julie & Katie’s wedding next week. We hung out with family for the next couple of hours. Jacob & I played cornhole with Larry & Joe. Larry & I were partners. Joe served me a Hefeweizen with a twist of orange. It was good. By the looks of his backyard preparations, it looked like he planned to host quite a few friends that evening. We left for home after the kids roasted a couple marshmallows. It was about 8:15pm when we headed out. And by the time that Mindy got the kids showered and into their PJs, it was darn near 9pm. It was a quick tuck-in due to the time. Bella understood why we weren’t doing an ‘I Spy’ page. Mindy & I stayed up until after 10pm watching Universe, a show on the National Geographic channel about the formation of the earth from a molten sphere to its present-day state. Very cool. We headed for bed sometime just after 10pm.
