Return to Work

I was out of bed by 5:35am ready to begin my work day routine. Mindy had reluctantly agreed to watch Lil’ Rocky and Landon so that Lindsey could return to work. She had to call off on Tuesday since no one would watch them. They arrived while I was in the shower. I was happy to see them but also happy to be heading to work. Hanging out all day with a house full of small children is not my cup of tea. Work was quieter than usual although we had a large amount of work. I suppose it was quiet due to so many people out on vacation. I quickly readjusted to my work routine. I left for a run around 12:40pm. It was very steamy. Strong storms were all around the central Ohio region but it was sunny overhead. I ran up quite a sweat. I returned to my office after a shower to finish my first day back at work. I left for home just after 5:20pm. I stopped ot pick-up the boat cover on the way home. Despite this being a Jimaken night, Bella, I learned, decided to stay at home with her momma. I chose not to eat a full blown dinner. Mindy agreed to drop the boat cover at Boat Bonnets tomorrow AM on her way to friend Teri’s in Westerville, so I went out to load it in her van and mark the areas needing repaired with white chalk. I was careful to point out all the areas to Mindy, too. Next, I decided to start the sprinkler pump, but to my surprise, it wouldn’t work. I tried repriming it but that didn’t work either. I was very disappointed. I went back inside to find the receipt and boxed the pump (glad I saved the box and packaging) and left for Home Depot determined to get another in exchange. I had to refuel along the way. Gas was up to $2.95 per gallon. It took 19 gallons to fill-up after only 250 miles, but most of that was pulling the boat. That’s a paltry 13 miles per gallon. I was at Home Depot for 20 minutes – most of that time waiting for help. They ultimately exchanged the pump with little hassle after some initial trouble. I was happy to have a new pump. Homeward! We spent the rest of evening relaxing on the deck and eventually getting in the hot tub. Once again we headed to bed even before the sky was dark.
